This year’s DPW Amsterdam was packed full of engaging keynotes, demos and chats with inspiring creators building the digital procurement space.
DPW is the time for digital procurement solutions to come together and demonstrate how to elevate procurement and drive teams forward through innovation.
After an introduction from the event’s founder, Matthias Gutzmann, DPW kicked off with Jeremy White, WIRED’s Senior Innovation Editor, who talked through the ongoing evolution of AI and competitive advantage.

The day also featured Marielle Beyer, Roche’s Head of Global Procurement, where she discussed the growing impact of data and digital. Talking through Roche’s digital transformation process, she outlined how incorporating technology into its overall operating model will drive this necessary change to help Roche leverage its capabilities. This means being:
1 – more customer centric and operating on a more flexible basis
2 – a chapter based, agile organisation with novel ways of working
“Procurement is in constant evolution! You have to constantly adapt, innovate and make space. And be bold.”
Marielle Beyer, Head of Global Procurement at Roche
As a result of transforming, new capabilities then have to be created to match demand and capacity, with a holistic portfolio needed. This involves making a conscious investment in technology and connecting solutions and startups to business needs and opportunities (something the ProcureTech ACCELERATOR has helped with). By leveraging smart technologies, Roche will create a new degree of automation, perhaps encouraging others companies to follow its innovative outlook.

Elouise Epstein, Digital Procurement Futurist, Kearney, (our Strategic Partner) challenged attendees to simplify, adapt and lead. “There is too much leadership in a vacuum… you can’t learn digital, you have to do it!”. We are now in a post ERP era and we need a tectonic shift in talent.

The event ended revealing the DEMO 2022 competition winners, voted for by in-person and virtual attendees, the panel, and engaging everyone around the world (the power of digital solutions!):
- Early stage track winner – Dieter Zocholl, Founder and CEO of XMED iQ
- Growth stage track winner – Sven Lackinger, Co-founder of Sastrify
