Private equity is at a critical point!

The industry needs to respond to rapidly evolving societal goals and increasing expectations on sustainability.

Private Equity Firms face increasing pressure to show meaningful progress against Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.

A recent survey of LPs by INSEAD’s Global Private Equity Initiative found that 90% of them factor ESG into their investment decisions and 77% use it as a criterion in selecting general partners. Furthermore, Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) reports that the number of PE and venture capital managers among signatories to the network has quadrupled over the past five years, for a total of 1,090 today. Additionally, $649 billion was invested in ESG-focused funds worldwide in 2021.

However, as they look to develop sustainability programs, Private Equity firms face organizational challenges in building teams that can be both impactful and influential to internal and external stakeholders.

Brandon Owens, VP of Insight Sourcing Group, along with three PE leaders, Anne Kolton, Jana Wayne and Lee Evangelakos, are going to discuss how they are successfully navigating these challenges and forging ahead on their sustainability journeys.
